Bashall Barn

FAQs

Please note our coffee shop and restaurant will remain closed indefinitely

Do you have on-site accommodation?+

We currently have two wedding suites and with the new addition of our Bedroom Barn we are able to offer six brand new bedrooms. These include 3 x double rooms, 1 x Famliy room (sleeps upto 4) and 2 x Family room (sleeps up tp 6), all with ensuite facilites. These rooms are to be blocked booked by the wedding couple.

Can we book a viewing?+

We are open for viewings 7 days a week but please note that weekend viewings will need to be done in the mornings so as to not interfere with weddings due to take place.
If possible we do suggest coming to view the venue in person but we appreciate that this isn’t always feasible. With that in mind we are happy to do viewings via Zoom or Teams.

What is your availability?+

To check what dates we have available click here to view the calendar.

How do we book and pay for the new bedrooms?+

Each couple will be guaranteed all 6 guest bedrooms on their wedding night. If we do not have a wedding the night before, you will be offered the block of 6 for the night before too.
Payment will be made by the couple for the block, it is then at their discretion to allocate the rooms to guests and choose whether to take payment or not.

Can we have a quote? +

Yes, of course. We always suggest utilising our handy budget builder tool first which can be found here: If you would then like a formal quote, please email weddings@bashallbarn.co.uk.

Is it exclusive use? +

Yes...it certainly is. You have exclusive use, we will never do more than one wedding a day here at Bashall.

Do we get a booking confirmation? +

Once we have received your deposit, we will send you a booking form to complete. This provides us with the details we require to create your booking confirmation which we will then send to you.

When do we have meetings? +

This is at your discretion, most couples either have a 6 or 12 month meeting via Teams with a final meeting, in person at 8 weeks out. The only meeting we require is your final meeting which can be done on Teams or Zoom if you are unable to visit the venue.

How do payments work? +

We require a £1000 deposit to secure your date, this is refundable within the first 30 days. We will then ask for a second payment of £2000 9 months before. We will calculate your final payment once we have received your final numbers 8 weeks before your wedding date. We ask for all payments to be made by BACS (bank transfer).

What does your ceremony fee cover? +

Yes of course. We have an outside reception bar and our Brook bar leads out to our balcony to.

Do you have a recommended suppliers list? +

We have made the decision to not have a recommended supplier list, anyone is welcome here at Bashall. But we can always point you in the right direction if you let us know what you are looking for.

Do we have to organise evening entertainment? +

We have a deal with DFC Lancashire. This means that if you have over 100 evening guests, a DFC DJ is included in the package. You can then choose to bring in a band or singing or musician if you wish to do so. You are not obligated to use the DFC DJ if you do not wish to but as they are leading industry professionals, our couples tend to choose to.

Can we bring food on-site? +

The only food you can bring on-site is a wedding cake. We will ask for an ingredients and allergens list beforehand.

Can we use external catering? +

We’re afraid not. All catering is done on-site, if you have any specific requests or needs, we will do our best to accommodate.

Can we bring our own alcohol? +

The short answer is No.
On very rare occasions we will allow corkage but this will be prepaid and agreed with the venue.

Do you allow dogs? +

Yes of course! It is up to you how long your dogs stay with you on the day, the evening reception can get a little loud for furry friends so we suggest either putting them in a crate in their room, having them go back and stay with a friend or we can recommend nearby kennels for them to stay for the night. There are also numerous “doggy wedding day care” companies who will care for your dogs during the ceremony, make sure they are photo ready and then take them home in the evening.

Can we have fireworks? +

As we are a working dairy farm, the only fireworks you can have are silent ones. We do permit sparklers, which make some stunning images. .

Who does the set up? When is it done? +

Our dedicated wedding team do your wedding set up on the morning of the wedding. We are used to working alongside florists. If you are requiring a very complex set up, for example an arch way and hanging decorations, this will need to be done by a wedding dresser on the morning of your wedding.

You certainly can, all we ask is that your cars are collected by 11am the next morning to clear space for the next wedding. Please note that all possessions are left at your own risk.

Do you have a sound limiter? +

We do not have a sound limiter. We have installed a sound and lighting system which runs throughout the building. This means that we can control the noise and prevents complaints as well as keeping staff and customers safe. We ask that any band, DJ or musician plugs into our sound system as we do not allow you to bring in speakers.
